The Historical Sites:
Goliad
County Courthouse -
Goliad’s fourth courthouse, completed in 1894, and restored to
its full glory in 2004. Featured
recently in a PBS special entitled “Great Texas Courthouses”.
Market
House Museum - Dedicated to
the public use in 1853. In
the early 1870's a market was built and stalls rented to peddlers
of meat and vegetables. Today it houses a fascinating collection of Goliad County’s
historical articles and artifacts.

Presidio
La Bahia - the only fully
restored Spanish Fort in existence in the United States.
Col. James W. Fannin and his men were executed here. An living history reenactment of the event is held the
weekend closest to March 27th, every year.
