BARBARA
JORDAN
was born July 16, 2003, and came into this world with a
flair. Her mother, Phoebe, sensed she was special - and
brought her to the front porch steps of the house braying
loudly to announce her birth. Barbara's a beautiful
chocolate brown with great conformation, and even better
disposition. She measures 29 inches tall currently. She is
named in honor of Barbara Charline Jordan, former member
of the Texas House of Representatives, and first African
American woman to serve in the US

BIRD JOHNSON - Our Miss Lady Bird [MD&MS Reg. 35672]
was born March 22, 2003 and named in honor of the First
Lady, Mrs. Lyndon Baines Johnson, as she was born in the
first field of wildflowers (bluebonnets mostly). What a
beautiful animal she is! The product of Grey Ghost and
John William Smith, she stands 29.75 inches tall.

CARLOTTA
- born July 26, 2003 of Minnie Fish Cunningham and Jim
Bowie, Carlotta is all love and affection. She's notorious
for putting her soft nose in your hands (or elsewhere) if
being ignored. Currently she stands 27.25 inches tall.
Named after Marie Charlotte Amelie of Austrian royalty,
she married Emperor Maximilian, accompanied him to Mexico,
and later returned to Europe to plead with Napolean III
and the pope to come to the aid of her husband and Mexico
after the withdrawal of French troops caused the downfall
of the empire in Mexico. SOLD

EMILY
MORGAN III - born March 27, 2004, Emily is the
daughter of Maria de Agreda and Jim Bowie. At birth she
was 19 inches tall, and is a beautiful, dark chocolate
brown with sorrel highlights. We think she is perfectly
proportioned, with lovely blond circles around her eyes
and the sweetest disposition. Emily is the namesake of the
famous African American beauty who is immortalized in the
story and song as "The Yellow
Rose of Texas." SOLD
